The Rhône Sediment Observatory (OSR) is an interdisciplinary research program on the hydro-sedimentary functioning of the river. It produces knowledge on the stocks and flows of sediments (pebbles, gravel, sand, silt, etc.) that circulate in the Rhône.
The knowledge produced answers management questions raised by sedimentary processes in the Rhône in terms of flood risk, biodiversity protection and restoration, pollutant circulation and storage, and sediment input to the sea and coastline.
