Welcome to the UMR Ecosystème Prairial (UREP) collection

The Unité Mixte de Recherche sur l'Ecosystème Prairial (UREP) studies the agroecology of the grassland ecosystem in a context of global change, notably climate change and management practices. The unit has international expertise in the fields of carbon and nitrogen cycles (greenhouse gas balance and carbon sequestration), plant community assembly, biotic interactions (plant-soil-animal) and their consequences on grassland functioning.

The unit is part of the Ecology and Biodiversity of Forest, Grassland and Aquatic Environments Department (ECODIV).

UREP's scientific project is part of a societal context of agro-ecological transition, which faces emerging challenges associated with climate change, resource scarcity, soil degradation and biodiversity loss. Our research focuses on the coupling of biotic regulation processes to biogeochemical cycles, with the aim of contributing to the sustainable management of grassland ecosystems in the face of global changes (climate, management practices). To this end, we are developing an integrative and predictive approach combining observation, experimentation and modeling.
