Bio-indication diatomique pour la mesure de la qualité des milieux aquatiques : avancées et perspectives

Abstract : Since 1994, Diatomees Biologic Index is regularly used in France by Water Offices to control rivers quality, but this index will rapidly evolve: European objectives about water ask European countries to reach the "good ecological state" before 15 years. It supposes that water quality is assessed in the same way within Europe, an important effort of standardisation need to be done. On the other hand, no method today can be used every where in Europe because the pertinence of indexes depends a lot on our ability to distinguish natural variations observed within diatomic communities of variation from anthropic origin. Hence, current research bears on studying the effect of environmental parameters on the structure of diatomic assembling, in order to obtain a definition of homogeneous ecological zones, which assembling-type will be described for. It makes innovating modelling tools such as artificial webs of neurons to play a role and constitutes a privileged way of development in diatomic bio-indication: the first results obtained on a data set assay are presented in this poster.
