This special issue aims at gathering materials from various economic trends which are all connected to landscape. Despite the expansion of academic research on landscape, economics is lagging behind. This apparent lack of research impedes understanding of the economic dimensions of landscape and prevents us from evaluating its transformations or from grounding its governance upon a scientific basis. Indeed, at the crossroads of several economic disciplines, the economics of landscape is emerging as a new field of research, encompassing various topics related to public and private choices about the use of spaces.
