L'échantillonnage des coléoptères saproxyliques au moyen des pièges d'interception aériens. Etude de quelques facteurs de variation

Abstract : Window-flight trapping is the most frequently used technique for catching flying active saproxylic beetles, a key group in forest biodiversity assessment. The choice of the type of window-flight trap (WFT) is one the first steps of the definition of a sampling design. From our results, alcohol-baited WFT brought the highest detection probability. Nonetheless, the trap attractiveness was influenced by the local openness and by the volume of fresh dead wood in the trap environment. In other words detectability changed with habitat structure. Other parameters in sampling methods optimization are discussed (seasonal and annual replication, number of traps per plot).
