Influence du type de bentonite dans les GSB et leur structure sur les transferts en étanchéité composite

Abstract : This paper presents the results of an experimental study aiming at quantifying the impact of the nature of the bentonite on transfers through composite liners. Indeed various research works have shown that some geosynthetic clay liners (GCLs) containing calcium bentonite could exhibit larger hydraulic conductivities than GCLs containing sodium bentonite. We thus intended to quantify this impact when the GCL is located inside a composite liner. Flow rates obtained are compared to those generated when the constitutive geotextile of the GCL is used alone at the interface of the composite liner. Results tend to show that a GCL has to be preferred to a geotextile in order to reduce the flow rates.
