Experimental investigation on the self-preserving behaviour of a turbulent plane jet with co-flow

Abstract : Air curtains are often used because of their ability to limit transfers between two atmospheres without the use of physical barrier. A typical air curtain is reproduced in a wind tunnel as a submerged plane jet in a uniform co-flow. This flow is explored by crossed Hot-Wire Anemometry for different Reynolds numbers and velocity ratios. The influence of these control parameters on the self-similar behaviours is discussed.
