This article offers a typology of the back-to-the-land migrations today in Sardinia (Italy). It is based on the assumption that the crisis in the cities of Southern Europe has accelerated the process of upgrading rural areas and agricultural activity. Building on a qualitative investigation, mixing interviews and participant observation, the article distinguishes different trajectories of return to land that show how the crisis acts rather as a trigger, as a catalyst of vocations within diverse profiles of new farmers. Addressed on an individual scale, these back-to-the-land migrations show thus different relationships to land and urbanity.

Cet article propose une typologie des retours à la terre et à l’agriculture aujourd’hui en Sardaigne (Italie). Il repose sur l’hypothèse que la crise des métropoles d’Europe du Sud a accéléré le processus de revalorisation de l’espace rural et de l’activité agricole. À partir d’enquêtes par entretien et observation participante, il distingue différentes trajectoires de retour à la terre qui montrent comment la crise agit plutôt comme un élément déclencheur, un catalyseur de vocation au sein de profils de néo-agriculteurs très divers. Abordés à l’échelle individuelle, ces retours à la terre et à l’agriculture s’inscrivent ainsi dans différents rapports à la terre et à l’urbanité.
