Agriculture, jeux d'acteurs et transition écologique. Première approche dans le bassin Tarn-Aveyron

Abstract : For farmers, adopting agroeecological practices can often be complicated. It requires engaging in a whole-systems approach at the farm level. To implement reasoned practices and to begin the agroecological transition, farmers need a support network of experts. In this preliminary study, we examined how farmers transition towards more agroecological practices; we used an approach that combined agricultural science with sociology. We interviewed five farmers with livestock-crop operations in the dairy-producing region of Tarn - Aveyron; we also spoke with 27 professionals with whom the farmers are in contact. We identified three types of farms, which differed in their relative implementation of agroecological practices. After describing the trajectory followed by a farmer who is at a very advanced stage of the transition process, we discuss differences in innovation use and support networks for the three farm types.
