Résumé

A new one-pot domino process, involving four chemical transformations, for the synthesis of new dipyrido[1,2-a:3',4'-d]imidazole salts in a multicomponent reaction is reported. Various dipyrido[1,2-a:3',4'-d]imidazoles were obtained in moderate to good yields. The scope and limitations of the process and the reaction mechanism are discussed.
