Sécheresse et canicule de l'été 2003: quelles conséquences pour les forêts françaises?

Abstract : Two characteristics distinguished the weather in 2003 – a gradual but marked deficit in rainfall combined with an intense and prolonged heat wave. In physiological terms, these circumstances rapidly led to conspicuous effects that suggest there could be less obvious but equally preoccupying consequences in the longer term. A major objective is now to more accurately assess the impact deriving from both this and future events. This will require extensive research starting with a collective assessment.
