Les variétés issues de vergers à graines

Abstract : Genetic improvement of forest trees is traditionally spread out using varieties mass-produced in seed orchards. They bring bath biological and economic gains for one or several criteria, that are already visible at a local scale but mostly amplified at regional levels. ln addition, this kind of variety offers some other guarantees and advantages to plantations. One can particularly mention regular performance levels both over space and time, due to a broad and stable over time genetic base but also to selection schemes.
