La presencia de los machos cabrios sexualmente activos evita el anestro estacional en las hembras
Résumé
We determined whether the presence of sexually active males prevents the display of seasonal anestrus in goats. We artificially induced strong sexual activity in bucks from January to June by subjecting them to long days. We also used control males that displayed intense sexual activity only from July to December. These sexually active males were placed with females all the year round. The continuous presence of these sexually active males prevented the anestrous season in goats, which then cycled all the year round. In contrast, females with control males or isolated from them, displayed seasonal anestrus for about 5 months
