, Résultats et discussion
, Bien que les performances varient en fonction des espèces associées et des sites pédoclimatiques, globalement, les mélanges réduisent la lixiviation avec une efficacité proche de celle des non-légumineuses pures, couramment utilisées pour produire ce service. Les couverts de légumineuses monospécifiques sont par contre moins efficaces, mais leur effet de réduction est significatif en comparaison au sol nu, confirmant qu'il est préférable d'avoir un couvert de légumineuse à forte vitesse de croissance semé en fin d'été que de laisser le sol « nu » en interculture vis-à-vis de la pollution nitrique. La quantité simulée d'N minéralisée à partir des résidus des mélanges de CI enfouis à l'automne s'est révélée être intermédiaire entre celle permise par les légumineuses en pure et celle des non-légumineuses en pure, Les résultats de simulations ont mis en évidence que les mélanges bispécifiques de CI légumineuse/nonlégumineuse permettaient de réduire la lixiviation de nitrate après une destruction automnale des couverts, ceci par rapport à un sol nu, 2012.
, Bien que ces résultats montrent l'intérêt des mélanges de cultures intermédiaires, il serait utile de disposer d'un modèle dynamique, comme STICS, correctement paramétré et validé pour simuler les flux d'azote pendant la période de croissance des cultures intermédiaires en mélange bispécifique
