Expression of plastid-targeted polypeptides in plants

This invention relates to the expression of plastid-targeted polypeptides in plants, in particular to the expression of polypeptides which are glycosylated during transit to the plant plastid, such as Arabidopsis thaliana CAH1. Suitable polypeptides may be expressed from encoding nucleic acid that comprises an ER signal sequence and one or more ER-plastid targeting sequences. Methods and means relating to the expression of such plastid-targeted polypeptides are provided.
