Abstract

A novel object-oriented modelling framework for Water Distribution Systems (WDSs) is presented that is suited for multiple purposes (asset management, hydraulic simulations, demand modeling, etc.). Additionally, this work provides efficient standard structures for storing WDS data (and metadata) and motivates why Python is the future programming language for WDS modeling.
