Abstract

The investigations carried out on two different three-dimensional (3D) open polylactic acid (OPLA®) uncoated or coated with hyaluronic acid (HY) were presented. The degradation of polylactic acid in vitro occurred in the bulk sample first and subsequently on the surface layer. The samples were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), porosity, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). The presence of pancreatin was found to have a major effect on the rate of degradation of the specimen when compared to the other media used.
