The Douglas Fir IUFRO provenances seed lots have been distributed to about 55 Institutions in 33 countries. This materiel has probably been planted out on several hundred test sites. From a scientific point of view. very interesting results ere to be expected from so large a confrontation between genetic and ecological variations. Therefore it is desirable to pool the available data from the experiments established in differents countries all over the world. A project of a computer-based data bank is proposed, the system is intended to allow storage and retrieval of data. This system is a praliminary measure necessa- y for performing any further joint analyses.
