EVOFOND is a one-dimensional hydro-sedimentary numerical model designed to study bedload transport in mountain rivers and torrents. This simple tool is here tested on three bedload transport experiments conducted on a small-scale model representing the Manival torrent (S.E. France). Despite simplified hydraulic calculations, EVOFOND reproduces reasonably well the trends in deposition and erosion when realistic boundary conditions are applied. The choice of a representative transported grain size for torrents subject to high transport intensities over coarse bed material is discussed.
