Bases génétiques de la résistance de la tomate à Ralstonia solanacearum : comparaison des races 1 et 3

Abstract : A deep knowledge of the genetic basis of tomato resistance against R.solanacearum is required to control efficiently bacterial wilt disease. The aim of this study is to identify a resistance source against a race 3, phylotype II (r3pII) strain, to characterise the genetic basis of this resistance for comparison with resistance to race 1 strains. The best best source of partial resistance to a Reunion Island r3pII strain was identifid in L.esculentum var. cerasiforme Hawaii 7996 among 82 Lycopersicon sp. accessions. QTL mapping for resistance was performed in a F3 population derived from Hawaii 7996 x L. pimpinellifolium WVa 700 (susceptible) during two seasons and using different resistance criteria (symptoms and bacterial colonisation). A generalist QTL with major effect and several QTLs criterion or season-specific were detected. QTL mapping experiments performed on the F8 population using r1pI and r3pII strains from Reunion Island and comparison with previous studies reveals a phylotype-specificity of some QTLs.
