Etude des déterminants génétiques et moléculaires de caractères influencés par le changement climatique chez l'abricotier et le cerisier

Abstract : In the context of temperature increase due to climate change, a study was conducted on adaptation of sweet cherry (Prunus avium) and apricot (Prunus armeniaca) to these modifications, with the help of the Ministry of Agriculture. A QTL search was undertaken by dealing with traits related to flowering phenology: bloom dates were decomposed into chilling and heat requirements and the quality of flowering was assessed by quantifying floral necrosis or abnormalities. For the bloom date and its components, stable and important QTL were detected on linkage groups (LG) 4, 1 and 6 on both species, which confirmed the high level of synteny within the Prunus genus. QTL for flowering quality were less significant and stable; nevertheless, promising QTL were highlighted on LG1 and 5, only for apricot. Candidate-genes (CG) involved in the flowering phenology were identified on sweet cherry and will soon be validated in both species. Classical phenology models, used for the prediction of bloom dates, were optimised on apricot and similar analyses are on-going on sweet cherry. Finally, data on QTL and CG are now being incorporated into the marker-assisted selection programmes.
