Discussion with stakeholders
Abstract
Feed-a-Gene is a so-called multi-actor project, which means that the project ‘...needs to take into account that the
objectives and planning are targeted to the needs, problems, and opportunities of end-users, and complementarity with existing research’. Partners from different sectors participate in the project, but we also need feedback from stakeholders about their expectations and on how project outcomes can be put into practice. What can and should we deliver to the livestock production sector and to society at large? The morning discussion deals with the following workpackages of the Feed-a-Gene project: (1) WP2: New animal traits for innovative feeding and breeding strategies; and (2) WP5: Use of traits in animal selection: genetic parameter estimations, genetic model developments, and evaluation of breeding schemes.
