Utilisation de l'indice de Johnson pour estimer la force des cohortes de l'esturgeon jaune du Saint Laurent

Abstract : This paper is about Johnson index. This index is used in Quebec to assess the evolution of the lake sturgeon population of the Saint Lawrence river. Analysis performed in this paper enable us to highlight the precautions which are requested to use properly this index either in terms of sampling (same stations with the same gears every years ) as in terms of number of years considered (minimum 3 years). The authors emphasised that this index can rank the cohorts from the biggest to the smallest but can't give any idea of the absolute value of the difference between two cohorts.
