Recherche d'éléments de gestion de la population d'anguilles sur la base des données produites par la RHP

Abstract : We established a grid of ecological and ethological interpretation of the electric fishing results on eel from a literature review. This was done in order to better exploit the information collected within the framework of the French hydrobiological and fish network. Twelve indices were defined and gathered into three categories. The first category concerning the glass eel incoming flow, the second one concerning the settled stock and the third one concerning the silver eel outgoing flow. The implementation of these indices showed a strong variability which presently limit the diagnosis. The mean evolution of these indices according to the sea distance were established. They allowed to identify the abnormal electric fishing operations which need to be more precisely analyzed. The comparison between the national results and those of the particular case of the low Norman coastal rivers seems to show that the spatial structure of the eels distribution is independent of the river basin size.
