Prediction of failures and renewal of water networks
Modélisation statistique de la prévision des défaillances sur les conduites d'eau potable
Abstract
The age and the present state of some networks augur economical overcosts due to the fact that failures are increasingly arising. It is now advisable to be versed in the ageing of mains. The object of this survey is the creation of a predicting model of water mains failures, which are the preponderant criterion for the selection of mains to replace, according to environmental factors. Data from differents urban and rural companies with long-standing water main repair (700 km) were collected. For an efficiently application of this model, it is important to own a computerized data base indexing the mains, their characteristics and failures. Thus, it will be possible to estimate the deterioration of the main. An economical survey can easily complete this research, to predict the future expenses of renewal.
L'objectif de cette étude est d'élaborer un modèle de prévision des défaillances des conduites d'eau potable, critère prépondérant dans le choix des conduites à renouveler, en fonction de facteurs environnementaux propres à la conduite. Ce sont les modèles de Cox et de Weibull qui ont permis de bien caractériser l'apparition des défaillances des conduites d'eau potable.
