Evaluation et homologation de variétés issues des vergers à graines de l'Etat - programme 2012 : rapport final

Abstract : This report shows the work done in 2012 by Irstea, INRA, ONF and CNPF in the framework of a research programme dedicated to improved varieties testing. It includes 5 species (Douglas-fir, larch, Black pine, wild cherry, ash) and a transversal topic (remote detection). With regard to Douglas-fir, the report shows i) the results obtained in a network of comparative trials that aims to compare the eight French seed orchards, ii) actions undertaken to broaden this network, iii) a first frost resistance trial, iv) a preliminary indoor experiment aiming at comparison of drought resistance of young seedlings, v) the performances of two French varieties in three old trials and vi) the first assessment of survival and early growth in two progeny tests of an orchard including Californian material. Activities related to larch include i) comparison for growth and forme of European hybrid varieties, ii) impact of Forest Reproductive Material hybride rate on stand productivity and iii) larch taxa identification through infra-red spectrometry.
