L’agriculture française face à la concurrence européenne et mondiale

Abstract : Thanks to the mechanisms established under the CAP, French agriculture has long benefited from the development of its exports to the European Union's partner countries. But, since fifteen years, the French agricultural production (expressed in volume) does not increase any more. The gradual saturation of food consumption, the development of agricultural production in several neighboring countries, the loss of agricultural land, the stabilization of yields in crop production, the increasing price volatility and the strengthening of environmental standards are factors that weigh on the current situation of French agriculture. However, the opening of new export markets and the renewal of societal expectations for agriculture are promising elements for projecting in the coming decades.
