Species identification of commercial pine nuts using molecular tools
Résumé
In this patent we develop a molecular assay that allows distinguishing among pine nuts and derived commercial products (e.g. Italian pesto sauce) of P. pinea (the European species) and those of Chinese (P. koraiensis) and Indian (P. gerardiana) origin. The method is fast and easy to implement, and it provides 100% probability of identifying the correct specific origin.
