Voies de développement pour les exploitations caprines en zone sèche du Var
Résumé
Over the last 15 years, goat farmers have settled in the Var department of southern France, mostly in areas of scrub-invaded wooded rangelands. A group analysis carried out on a sample of 20 farms reveals disparities between the goat frams which concern animal numbers, milk yield of goat and the place really held by rangelands in the diet of goat herds. However, one may conclude to a common characteristic : economic results are narrowly related to the volume of milk produced and marketed as goat cheese by the farm.
