The use of sludge from urban waste water treatment plants for agricultural applications offers a suitable solution to the problem of its disposal. The implementation and durability of such an application requires a specific organization based on an in-depth design of each project, on optimal conditions for the implementation and supervision of the operations, and on incentive and statutory government actions. The use of sludge for agricultural purposes, described as an organized operational continuum, leads to the notion of a spreading plan used essentially as a support for implementation and to provide clarity for all those directly concerned, including the public authorities and the population at large.
L'utilisation agricole constitue une solution bien adaptée à la destination finale des boues des stations d'épuration urbaines. Sa mise en place et sa pérennité nécessitent une organisation spécifique fondée sur une conception approfondie de chaque projet, sur les conditions optimisées de réalisation et de surveillance des opérations ainsi que sur les actions publiques incitative et réglementaire. La filière d'utilisation des boues à des fins agricoles, décrite comme un continuum opérationnel organisé, débouche sur la notion de plan d'épandage utilisé principalement comme support d'exécution des tâches et de transparence pour les acteurs directement concernés, les autorités publiques et les citoyens.
