Mouvements tridimensionnels dans le sillage d'un cylindre perturbé par une couche de mélange plane

Abstract : The interaction of the wake of a circular cylinder and a plane mixing layer has been carried out. In order to address the highly three-dimensional character of this flow, several measurements were performed by hot wire anemometry (a four hot wire probe is used which allows to measure simultaneously the instantaneous three velocity components). The different measurements allowed us to obtain mean velocity profiles and turbulent quantities. In the cylinder wake, three different zones are present, all distinguished by different behaviour of the interaction zone. In the near wake, high velocity and low velocity wakes dominate the mixing layer. In the intermediate wake, the mixing layer interacts with the high velocity wake. Finally in the developped wake, the mixing layer recovers its own characteristics through the wake.
