Etude de l'anguille en marais d'eau douce. Première analyse des probabilités de capture observées lors des inventaires par pêche électrique

Abstract : Using the results of 28 operations (3 passages) by electric fishing performed in the small size canals of a Britanny marsh, an analysis of eels catches (541 specimens) is achieved. In one third of the stations, two passes have proven insufficient to achieve a satisfying quantitative estimation; the latter was then inferior to the sum of catches obtained during 3 passes. With 3 passes, estimation methods based on a constant catch probability (Pc) are not suited to 20% of the stations and lead to an overestimation of the most likely number of eels (Pc increase during each passage). Using methods that make it possible to test Pc variations during the passes is therefore of high interest. It was not possible to establish relations between the eels size and their catch probability. However, the analysis, in each station, shows that the environment characteristics have an influence on the Pc evolution with respect to size.
