Calcul global des barrages de correction torrentielle : prise en compte des interactions sol-structure

Abstract : Torrent control dams based on an active protection concept are often built to limit the risks of bank slip in the upper part of the catchment area. These structures, which are subjected to phenomena of a particular type and intensity, or built in a difficult geotechnical context have to resist to stresses due to instable slopes movements. The mechanical justification of the external stability of torrent control dams, essential piece of construction protecting against torrential floods in mountainous areas, is currently based on a two-dimension method by section. The deficiencies of such a method lead to think of evolving to a three-dimension design method, based on simplifications or classical geotechnical theories. This paper presents the general method and its application to different shapes of these dams foundations. The problem appears quite complex and the applicable process has still to be totally validated.
