A numerical tool to intergrate bio-physical diversity of a large regulated river : hydro-biogeochemical bases; the case of the Garonne River (France)

Abstract : This article presents the hydrobiogeochemical model of the Garonne River (South-West of France) which has been developed to integrate physical and biological processes during summer low-water periods. The first simulations show that the nitrification process is insignificant in the water body and that epilithic biofilm impacts nitrogen fluxes circulating within the water body. Our results highlight that epilithic biofilm activity does not explain alone the differences observed with the measures.
