Interaction entre un manteau neigeux et une structure souple : une nouvelle méthode de dimensionnement des filets paravalanches = Interaction between a snow mantel and a flexible structure: a new method to design avalanche net structures

Abstract : The improvement of protective technics against natural phenomena, such as snow avalanches, requires to use classical methods in the field of structures calculation. This paper deals with a new method to design avalanche protection nets ; this method is based on mechanical balance of cable structures. Thus, a computational software has been developed ; it allows design of avalanche nets to be easily carried out. The comparison between numerical results and experimental ones has given some elements to validate this new approach. Finally, several next research works are discussed in order to progress in the field of modelling of interaction between flexible structures and complex geomaterials such as snow mantel.
