Identification and classification of preoccupying pesticides for health and environment: Sph'Air, a decision support system for air monitoring
Identification et classification des pesticides préoccupants pour la santé et l'environnement : Sp'Air, un outil d'aide à la décision pour la surveillance de l'air

Sph'air is a decision support system aiming to classify pesticides according to the level of concern caused by their presence in the atmosphere. The classification is carried out via a multicriteria analysis method. The criteria used are quantities of pesticides sold in France, their air persistence, atmospheric sources and toxicity. The classification results were compared to pesticides monitored in air. Sph'air correctly identified the most often detected substances in the atmosphere. The French National Institute for Industrial Environment and Risks (INERIS) has developed this decision support system with the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) and the Public Research Institute studying land and water management (CEMAGREF). Financed by the French Région Picardie and French Environment and Agriculture Ministries, this project is supervised by a steering committee composed of policy makers, scientists, industrialists and associations.
Sph'air est un outil d'aide à la décision visant la classificaton des pesticides en fonction de leur niveau d'impact causé par leur présence dans l'atmosphère. La classification est issue d'une méthode analyse multicritères. Les critères utilisés sont la quantité vendue en France, leur persistance dans l'air, la source dans l'atmosphère et leur toxicité. Les résultats de la classification sont comparés aux pesticides mesurés dans l'air. Sph'air identifie correctement les substances les plus souvent détectées dans l'air. L'Institut National de l'EnviRonnement industriel et des rISques(INERIS) développe cet outil d'aide à la décision en collaboration avec l'INRA et le CEMAGREF. Financé par la Région Picardie et le Ministère de l'Environnement ce projet est supervisé par un comité de pilotage regroupant des décideurs politiques, des scientifiques, des industriels et des associations.
