Patrimony or heritage in the first place? How forest owners in Gascony respond to the rise of "ecologization"
Patrimoine foncier et naturel ? Les propriétaires forestiers face à l'écologisation des Landes de Gascogne
Résumé
The notion of natural heritage implies two processes: patrimonialisation' and ecologisation'. The article aims to present the traditional conception of forest inheritance by Gascony forest owners. We then will observe if they are affected by the calling into question of these traditional conceptions. Finally, we will analyse their reactions towards the ecologisation' of their forest management paradigms. To understand their point of view and to define the main features of this process that affects many French natural areas, we mobilize Heinich's theoretical frame of patrimonialisation'. We also use the notion of social public problems by Trom and Zimmermann and the concept of ecologizsation by Kalaora.
La notion de patrimoine naturel sous entend deux processus en jeu : la patrimonialisation et la « naturalisation » de l'objet considéré. L'objectif de cet article est de présenter la conception traditionnelle du patrimoine forestier à l'½uvre chez les propriétaires forestiers des Landes de Gascogne. Ensuite nous verrons comment ils se situent par rapport à la requalification de leur forêt en tant que « patrimoine naturel ». Enfin, nous analyserons leurs réactions face à l'écologisation de la gestion forestière. Pour comprendre leur position et caractériser cette évolution qui concerne de nombreux espaces naturels en France, nous mobiliserons les travaux d'Heinich (2009) sur le processus de patrimonialisation. Nous mobiliserons aussi les travaux de Trom et Zimmerman sur la construction des problèmes publics et de Kalaora sur la notion d'écologisation.
