Environmental temperature is the dominant predictor of the size structure of European lake fish assemblages

La température : facteur dominant de la prédiction de la structure en taille des assemblages de poissons lacustres européens

Résumé

Test of different hypothesis on size structure predictors on a dataset including 726 European lakes. Size structure of fish assemblages in European lowland lakes are relatively robust against environmental modifications. Fish assemblages in high-altitude coldwater lakes may suffer dramatic consequences from global warming because species shifts may be accompanied by substantial shifts in size structure.
