Résumé
WETwin is a research project supported by the European Commission under the Seventh Framework Program. Its overall objective is to enhance the role of wetlands in basin-scale Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), with the aim of improving the community service functions while conserving good ecological status. This report presents the results of the DPSIR (Drivers -Pressures-State-Impacts-Responses) conducted in the seven case study sites of the WETwin project. Its primary objective is to identify and explore the major environmental and livelihood problems at the study sites. This involves the identification of the whole cause-effect mechanism. This document also aims at reviewing potential measures (Responses) proposed by various stakeholders and researchers, for mitigating the problems. ‘Impacts’ are interpreted here as impacts on the Ecosystem Services of the wetland. Accordingly, DSIR analyses are preceded in this document by the identification of relevant Ecosystem Services.
