Periphyton tolerance following chronic exposure to low doses of pesticides in mixtures

Evolution de la tolérance des biofilms exposés chroniquement à des faibles doses de pesticides

Résumé

PICT is used as a tool for assessing changes in tolerance of periphytic communities (Tlili & Montuelle, 2011), allowing to assess differences in tolerance between sites and identification of the toxicant(s) involved (e.g. Tlili), analyse historical changes with decreasing pressure (e.g. Pesce). Here we propose to combine the use of passive samplers (here POCIS), that are usually used to characterise intergrated exposure of the aquatic environment and have been recently used for performing short-term PICT assays, to perform more realistic microcosm exposure.
