Etude thermique d'une boucle de réfrigération secondaire par coulis d'hydrates

Abstract : Hydrates are fine solid particles capable of transporting large quantities of energy when they are circulating as slurry. The objective of this paper is to present the first results of thermal study on an experimental loop equipped with a heating tube. The measuring method was first validated on water and allowed to show that hydrates slurries have heat exchange coefficients of the order of 3000 W.m-2.K-1 for volume solid fractions close to 20 %. These results show that their use in refrigerating plants would be a main advantage for the improvement of the energy performances in the refrigeration field.
