1D-numerical modelling of suspended sediment dynamics in a regulated river
Modélisation numérique 1D de la dynamique des sédiments en suspension dans une rivière aménagée
Résumé
Numerical modelling of suspended particulate matters (SPM) in rivers is of interest for several operational purposes, such as hydropower generation or ecological restoration. A 1D numerical model was built to understand the SPM dynamics over Rhône River network at event to pluri-annual time scales. The interest of this approach is demonstrated through the simulation of a major hydro-sedimentary event in the Lower Rhône River in France in May-June 2008.
