Comportement des essences forestières sur sol à nappe temporaire

Abstract : Temporary water-logging is a common occurrence in forest ecosystems of North-Eastern France. This constrain induces low productivity, lack of stability of the trees, and major problems during natural regeneration. The most important features of soils subjected to water-logging are described. In particular, these soils frequently induce two successive stresses: water-logging and resulting hypoxia during spring and drought due to superficial rooting during summer.
