Silvicultural systems for producing high quality large timber
During the course of the 20th century, silvicultural systems gradually became established both France and Germany. Their goal is produce at lowest cost so as to maintain profitability of forestry. They are based on the successive phases which relatively even-aged stands go through and are guided by considerations relating t the growth habit of trees. The two authors —French and German — describe the principles and methods implemented, while highlighting, where applicable, the differences in their respective outlooks.
