Biodiversité, type de sol et intensité de l'exploitation de prairies permanentes du Plateau lorrain

Abstract : Vegetation biodiversity of permanent pastures of Plateau lorrain (north-eastern France) has been studied. Two variables were considered : the total number of species per grassland (Ns), and the Shannon index (Si) calculated on the basis of the species frequency in the sward. Results showed that (Ns) and (Si) are not determined by the same factors. (Ns) and (Si) are reduced by the mineral fertilisation and grazing or cutting frequency, whereas (Ns) is also affected by the type of soil. (Ns) is particularly related to the nutrient status of the soil, and (Si) to the growing time of the biomass.
