Etude comparative d'extraction de l'huile essentielle d'Ylang-Ylang

Abstract : A partially dehydrated Java Ylang-Ylang flowers were treated by the Instantaneous Controlled Pressure Drop (DIC) process, which involves subjecting for a short period of time to a steam pressure (4.5 bar), followed by an abrupt pressure drop into vacuum (about 50 mbar). This abrupt pressure drop provokes auto vaporization of the volatile compounds, modifies the internal structure and eventually implies the destruction of cell walls, which enhance the internal diffusion. We extracted by solvent the residual essential oil from flowers after DIC process, mainly for quantifying the DIC effect. In view of a comparative study, the quantitative and qualitative chemical analyses by GC/MS were undertaken on the both DIC extracted and residual essential oils.
