Mikoko project report: 1st Workshop. Conservation and resilience of Kenyan mangrove forest
Résumé
This report summarizes the proceedings of the “Mikoko1 project, conservation and resilience of Kenya’s mangrove forest scientific workshop and field visit” held in Lamu between 11th to 13th September 2019. The workshop was jointly organized by the Kenya Forestry Service (KFS), French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD) and French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD). This was with the support of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. The workshop brought together participants from national and county governments, local and international research institutions, community-based organizations, civil society groups and
academic institutions to learn more about the Mikoko Project and exchange experiences on mangrove conservation and restoration. The priorities and outputs identified at the workshop formed inputs into the activities that the project will focus on in the next 18 months.
