This video concerns the Hole Erosion Test, which is currently the most widely used operational laboratory test in the world by engineers to characterize the resistance of a soil to one of the four main mechanisms of internal erosion: concentrated leak erosion. This test was originally proposed by Wan and Fell in the 2000 to assess the safety of earthen dams and dikes.
