Internal erosion in embankment dams and dikes - Concentrated leak erosion - The Hole Erosion Test
Résumé
This video concerns the Hole Erosion Test, which is currently the most widely used operational laboratory test in the world by engineers to characterize the resistance of a soil to one of the four main mechanisms of internal erosion: concentrated leak erosion. This test was originally proposed by Wan and Fell in the 2000 to assess the safety of earthen dams and dikes. This video explains how the Hole Erosion Test is performed on the Inrae device (Aix-en-Provence, France).
