Vlassenbroek project - Flanders Hydraulics Research - Field erosion tests on untreated soils - JET Erosion Test in situ

Résumé

Four erosion tests were performed on the Vlassenbroek experimental levee (Dendermonde, 9200, Belgium), more precisely on the untreated sections. The conditions and results of these 4 JET erosion tests are presented. The critical stress is quite high, consistent with soil’s nature (plastic clay); the erosion coefficient is also high, which means that the erosion rate is high. Considering these two parameters, the tested soils are erodible.
