The target of the sel-management process makes the level of positivity to others

Abstract : We study the Leviathan model in which individuals have opinions on each other (Deffuant et al 2013). The model couples the management of face-to-face meetings through direct interaction implying influence depending on esteem of the other and self-management (reward or punishment depending on the returned image by the other); and gossip having an influence depending of the level of esteem of the hearer for the talker. It is shown that the chosen target of the self-management process leads to a positive or a negative world. Mainly punishing or rewarding people held in high esteem can lead to a global positivity or global negativity to others while punishing or rewarding mostly everyone or only people held in low esteem leads to global negatives relationship. Moreover, choosing a self-management targeting more those held in high esteem keeps the same, and even enlarges, the richness of the various leaderships and organisations emerging from the model.
